Senator Karen Nyamu has faced significant backlash after labeling Generation Z ‘fools’ in a viral video. The senator was addressing the recent Gen Z-led protests, criticizing the young people for failing to clearly articulate their demands despite gaining significant attention from President William Ruto and the media.
“Gen Z wakwende. Ni mafala sana. Yaani Gen Z mnaenda streets mnapata attention ya the whole country. President, the media, nani wameshawatambua hats off enyewe mko juu. Mnaitwa kwa meza, we are leaderless.

Nyamu vs Gen Z’s
Nyamu continued to call out those criticizing her & referring to her as arrogant.
”President anawapatia audience X space ooh Karen Nyamu is arrogant oh Murkomen ata nikiwacha kuwa arrogant itaimprove life yako aje? Focus on yourself. If I stop being arrogant how will that improve your life?,” she asked.
Nyamu advised the young people to focus on demanding jobs for the youth, stating that they had been misguided in their approach. She expressed disappointment that the protests had ultimately not resulted in concrete actions to address youth unemployment.
Gen Z’s were disenchanted with Nyamu’s words, as a section of them referred to her as the epitome of ‘beauty without brains’.
