Karen Nyamu Banned from going live on TikTok over ‘Sexually Suggestive content’

Nominated Senator Karen Nyamu has been banned from going live using her TikTok account because she may have gone against the stipulated terms and regulations of TikTok that one is supposed to adhere to.

For starters, TikTok is an online social media app used for creating, sharing and discovering short entertaining and even educative videos. The app is mostly used by the Gen Z’s as a means of self-expression for lip-syncing, dancing, singing, and comedy.

Karen Nyamu shared a screenshot in which she had been restricted from going live on TikTok because she had violated their terms.

According to TikTok, Karen Nyamu was sharing sexually suggestive content, hence the reason why her live session was closed down abruptly. They, however, told her that her account would be restored later in the day.

Apparently, what the nominated senator did was hug one of her friends in the live session, and that made TikTok suspend her account for a while because they may have felt it was going somewhere.

Karen Nyamu, on the other hand, was actually not even worried upon realizing so but was feeling glad that, for once, TikTok had started putting controls in place to regulate what its users can do.

“I like the controls and checks TikTok has put in place. A lady just happened to hug me on my shoulder, and this happened.”

She, however, joked about it a little, saying that, who knows, TikTok might start taking even the slightest things seriously from now on. “TikTok itabaniwa in Kenya nikiwa bafu nikioga.” Karen Nyamu wrote on her insta stories.
