Kamala Harris is expected to announce her running mate by Monday as she gears up for a tour of key US battleground states. This tour aims to convert the enthusiasm surrounding her presidential campaign into sustained support to drive her to victory.
Every route to the White House passes through a select few swing states. Harris will start her five-day campaign on Tuesday in the largest of them—Pennsylvania. Additionally, she aims to gain momentum for her November 5 showdown against Republican Donald Trump.
““At this moment, we face a choice between two visions for our nation: one focused on the future and the other on the past… This campaign is about people coming together, fueled by love of country, to fight for the best of who we are,” Harris posted on X.
Harris Gains Full Control Ahead of Chicago Convention
After winning enough delegate votes to secure the Democratic nomination, the country’s first female, Black, and South Asian vice president is now heading into the national convention in Chicago in two weeks. With this achievement, she is in total control of her party.
In just two weeks, the 59-year-old former prosecutor has not only shattered fundraising records but also drawn massive crowds and dominated social media. As a result, she has erased the polling leads Trump had built before President Joe Biden exited the race.
Next on the agenda is selecting a vice presidential candidate. Therefore, an announcement is expected before her rally on Tuesday evening, where she will be joined by the yet-to-be-revealed nominee in Philadelphia, the largest city in Pennsylvania.”
Pennsylvania is the most coveted among the fiercely contested battlegrounds that determine the Electoral College outcome. Furthermore, it is part of the ‘blue wall’ that helped Biden win the White House in 2020, alongside Michigan and Wisconsin. Consequently, Harris is scheduled to charm audiences in these two states on Wednesday.

Harris Aims to Rebuild Black and Hispanic Support in Key Southern States
As the week progresses, Harris will travel through the racially diverse Sun Belt and southern states, including Arizona, Nevada, Georgia, and North Carolina. Meanwhile, her goal is to strengthen the Black and Hispanic support that has been drifting away from the Democrats.
Only a month ago, Trump was confidently leading, having built a substantial advantage in swing state polls after Biden’s poor debate performance. Meanwhile, this kept the nation guessing about his own vice presidential choice.
