Mwangi Irungu’s untimely death
The late Mr. Mwangi had allegedly been requesting to see his son moments before his untimely demise but seeing that Jowie is locked up for life following the murder of Monica Kimani; unfortunately Mr. Mwangi’s request went unfulfilled.
He used to weep over Jowie’s conviction. Before his health sharply deteriorated, he had asked us to make plans on how he could travel to Kamiti to see Jowie. It is sad he has died without seeing him as he wished. His daughter opened up.
One of Jowie’s sisters believes their father’s health worsened following their brothers conviction as the old man believed his son was innocent.
On the same Mr. Mwangi had often discussed his son’s innocence with media houses saying he had been framed for something he had not done.
“My son was unfairly tried and convicted; they made sure the world was against him,” he said then.
