The Jomo Kenyatta International Airport of Nairobi Kenya has announced that its closing the runway temporary due to plane cargo technical issues.
Earlier today through their twitter handles they informed the public that the runway has been restricted access because of an aborted takeoff delay.
”Jambo! We would like to confirm that the runway at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) has been temporarily closed due to an aborted takeoff by cargo plane that developed technical issues this morning.”
They went on saying that the airport is out of bounce in the sense that there will be no incoming and outgoing flights that will be allowed in the area until the issue is resolved.
“Our top priority is the safety of all passengers and we are working closely with the relevant authorities to resolve this situation as quickly and safely as possible. As a result of the runway closure, all incoming and outgoing flights have been temporarily suspended.”
They although apologized for any shortcomings they may have cause in the process but assured the public that they are doing their level best to ensure the problem is resolved.
They also advised the passengers that they should reach out to their respective airlines company so that they are given the way forward.
”We regret any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience and understanding during this time. We advise all passengers to contact their respective airlines for further information on the status of their flights.”
