JICHO PEVU’S VETERAN UNDERCOVER JOURNALIST SHARES THE REASON WHY THE WORLD OF JOURNALISM IS INCOMPETENT LATELY

Published on

Former veteran journalist Mohammed Ali has revealed the reason why the current world of journalism is so incompetent.

Speaking through a video shared online, he said that the current journalists lack enough competition and practice. He also said that the career is a calling and cannot be forced.

He also shared his perception of the current trending tragic news of the Shakahola story that saw masses of people die due to hunger strikes, saying that if they were around, they could’ve already exposed it earlier before blaming the current journalists for not doing enough on their end to unravel it way earlier.
Expressing his disappointment in the Kenyan journalists for being bypassed by the foreign journalists who come to the country and break the African story, whereas the people living in the country don’t have a clue what is going on.

“But I think it’s a big tragedy for our Kenyan journalists to miss out on that story. It’s a story that needs time and that needs camping in Shakahola. As the government is doing its thing, the journalists should also be there to make sure that they are connecting all the dots of intelligence to make it right.”

He, lastly shared a message of encouragement to upcoming journalists looking up to him, saying that they shouldn’t do so but rather endeavor to create their own individual, better version of him.
