Comedian Jalango was cleared by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), earlier yesterday, which acted as a ticket for him to appear on the ballot paper amidst of the upcoming elections.
This happened on Tuesday 31st May, where he was accompanied by his supporters, who all together were overjoyed.
The Azimio aspirant for Langata’s Member of Parliament expressed his joy where he said that his journey had now officially begun after he was given the certificate.
“Safari ya Lang’ata imeanza leo,” he said. He expressed his confidence in winning the seat ahead of the August elections.
Fans were thrilled after this incident and made several reactions on his Instagram page. Songwriter Suzanna Owiyo expressed her support by making a comment on Jalas’ Instagram page.
“Congratulations are in order” wrote Suzanna Owiyo.
Akothee Kenya showed her support too in which she congratulated Jalango after his clearance.
This event took place after the IEBC had announced the requirements that ought to be met by every aspirant.
Phelix Odiwuor, popularly known as Jalango, or Jalas in short, is an ex radio presenter who expressed his will for politics earlier this year. Jalango officially joined the ODM party after he had hosted Edwin Sifuna the party’s secretary general.
There were mixed reactions from his fans after him quitting his radio job where he said that he started getting calls from concerned friends and fans wondering why he was not on air.
“I am 35 years now, with my next birthday on the 27th of April. These are probably my last five years on radio. I will be 40 years by then, what else will I be doing? Let me give back and that’s why I will be vying,” he said.
Fans were happy and overjoyed based on their comments and support after the comedian shared the video of his clearance on his Instagram page.
