Media personality Jahmby Koikai has passed on. The news has been confirmed by a Tweeter (X) user monikered Gloria Orwoba.
Writing on X, she expressed her sorrow while narrating about the news.
”My heart is broken. It is not fair. We lost Jahmby Koikai last night.
The renowned reggae artist passed away at Nairobi hospital. She had been battling endometriosis, a condition that causes tissue growth outside the uterus.
She had appealed for blood donation while admitted in the hospital.

Jahmby’s health battle
She underwent numerous surgeries as her condition worsened, including monthly occurrences of collapsed lungs. Two weeks ago, she was hospitalized again and appealed for public support in managing her illness.
The disease had a significant impact on her health, affecting her teeth, heart, appendix, and spine. Her organs shifted due to the condition’s severity.
News of her passing has been met with an outpouring of grief from fans and friends. ODM spokesperson Philip Etale expressed his deep sorrow: “Fyah Mummah, my friend, sister, confidante… Your smile, our conversations (including our KBC days), your mastery of Maragoli, and the joy you brought to those around you. You had a huge family, and you’ll be deeply missed.”
Jahmby’s advocacy extended beyond music. On May 19th, 2024, she appealed to President Ruto during his US visit, urging investment in Kenya’s healthcare system.
Her legacy lives on through her music and her unwavering spirit in the face of illness.
