Dancehall gospel sensation, Jabidii, recently shared his inspiration after a successful journey in the music industry.
The singer divulged while in an interview with SPM Buzz, how his mum supported him during the launch of his musical career.
He calibrated that his mum funded his first song, not forgetting to mention that she featured him in her song at his 2nd attempt.
”My first song ni mum alinipatia pesa ya ku record. Hio time, alini recordia ngoma moja alafu hio ingine tukafanya na yeye. So imagine 13 years ago, nikianza my solo career, mum ndio alini support,” he stated.
Jabidii’s musical journey
Growing up in the slums of Kibera, the “Makofi” hitmaker revealed that his love for music ignited during his primary school days, fueled by a passion for reggae and hip-hop. These early influences have undeniably shaped his unique sound.
Despite his current success, Jabidii candidly admitted to facing significant challenges in the early stages of his gospel music career. There were times when the financial strain almost led him to abandon his faith and pursue other ventures. However, his perseverance paid off, and his breakthrough hit, “Shoot Satan,” catapulted him to stardom.
