South Sudanese digital creator Yagga has explained why many people opt to resort to creating content despite having excelled and finished campus with qualification papers.
Speaking during an interview with one of the journalists, Yagga said that the majority of those creating content are not actually doing it out of will but are doing it because they lack options, and it is circumstances that have forced them to resort to it.
“Content creation is a job of its own, but guess what? 90% of content creators did not become content creators, or 90% of those in the entertainment industry did not choose this path; most of them did IT because they had no options.” Yagga said.
He goes on to call out a few known Kenyan content creators who are graduates but are doing content creation, saying that they resorted to content creation because they have no jobs and opted to try doing something that can generate revenue for them from which they will be able to pay bills.
“How many graduates are creating content? Look at Crazy Kennar and Flaqo. These guys studied different things, but they are doing different things to survive. It is not because that is what they chose to do in the first place. It is because there are no jobs.” TikToker Yagga disclosed.
He goes on to admit that he is also a victim of it because he did public health in the industry, but he is a TikToker doing content across all his social media platforms.
“Personally, I did public health in the health industry, but guess what? I am TikToker, doing content on Instagram, and everywhere I know I might get a job, but it is going to cost me.” Yagga disclosed.
