Nairobi Women Representative Esther Passaris has called out nominated cabinet secretaries flaunting their net worth online. According to her, this is totally unacceptable, and it is kind of spitting on the faces of the people who elected them.
This doesn’t sit right with her because, for one, there are Kenyans complaining about the high cost of living and struggling to raise money, whereas there are those flaunting how much they have when they should be looking and strategizing and coming up with ways of helping those struggling and in need.

She expressed disbelief in the videos circulating online showing the Nominated Cabinet Secretaries net worth, saying that she too is also disappointed with how the leaders are flaunting their much money online, whereas there are Kenyans struggling to make ends meet, let alone provide for themselves.
“I saw some videos running around social media after we did the vetting, and so many people were questioning the wealth of many people that we were vetting… I too wonder how do people make that kind of money,
because I have had businesses that have collapsed and those that are doing well, and I do not want that kind of wealth because, at the end of the day, it is ridiculous. for one person to be worth so much, and the only job that they have ever had is that of a public servant. I think it is actually egg on the face of people who have elected us to do the work.” Passaris shared.
