It is because they are lazy ~ Charlene Ruto Shares Her Perspective on Why Youths are Poor and Jobless

Charlene Ruto, the daughter of Kenyan President Charlene Ruto, has shared her perspective on why youths are poor and jobless.

Speaking in a brief interview session she had with Citizen TV, she opened up, urging the young people to be passionate and work on what they want to do rather than sit and wait to be employed, adding that the reason many are jobless is because they don’t want to step up and fend for themselves instead await opportunities to find them.

“I would like to call on our young people: let’s not sit and be lazy. You are passionate about something; don’t give up on that. Reach out to us, give us your idea, and tell us this is what I want to do.

I always give a listening ear to somebody who has already started something, and I can see where they are going, and I can easily put something in other than somebody who is like, Give me a job. Where am I going to get a job  from?”Charlene explained.

She urged youths to first identify what they want to do and reach out to them, as only those with a clear, structured plan will be listened to rather than those who haven’t realized and unlocked their potential yet.

Something that has not been taken lightly by Kenyans is asking her to publicly apologize for her remarks about generalizing people.
