Comedian Nasra Yusuf has announced her interest in running for a political seat come 2027 elections.
The jester’s move was expedited by the fact that most MPs from North-Eastern region voted to support the finance bill, something which didn’t please her.
Sharing with SPM Buzz in a recent interview, Nasra maintained her stance in rejecting the finance bill as she hinted on vying for a North- Eastern political seat.
”Wachunge, I’m coming for those positions. Hamwezi kuwa mnatuchezea hapa,” she started off.
She further called those MPs out, referring to them as the biggest traitors.
”Kwanza watu wa North-Eastern wametuangusha. North Eastern are the majority of those MPs that betrayed us. Only 2 MPs from North- Eastern voted no.”
Nasra is among the numerous comedians who have come out to the streets to demonstrate against the passing of the finance bill. She has hailed the Gen Z’s for their bravery when it comes to demonstrating the bill.
Is there hope for Gen Z’s?
President Ruto recently claimed that he is willing to listen to the grievances of the young people, adding that he’s proud of them for making their sentiments known.
I am very proud of our young people; they have stepped forward tribeless and peaceful, and I want to tell them we are going to engage them and have a conversation so that together we can build a greater nation.” President Ruto said.
Ruto’s statement gave hope to most Kenyans that he will re-consider his decision on the finance bill.
