Kiss 100 Radio Presenter Kwambox has shared the difference between an apartment and a flat.

Kwambox

Speaking earlier today on the morning show at Kiss 100 alongside Chito, she said that there’s usually a difference between an apartment and a flat.

According to her, If you can hear what your neighbor is doing, you are not in an apartment but in a flat.

“If you can hear your neighbor, that’s not an apartment but a flat!”

The conversation was brought up by her co-host, Chito, who asked her If she had ever lived in a position where she could hear their neighbor coughing.

Kwambox went on narrating that she had been in such a scenario before where she had a neighbor who could wake up earlier at 3 am and use the bathroom and then go back to bed, an experience she still questions to this day as to what the neighbor was doing.

For Starters, an apartment is a self-contained housing unit (a type of residential real estate) that occupies part of a building, generally on a single floor, whereas a flat is a single residential unit on a single floor.

Basically, A flat is a single residential unit on a single floor, while an apartment is one where you have several residential units on a single floor. That’s the difference.

So now, to you: where do you stay?
