  • Kebaso reveals concerns about the lack of physical support from his online followers when faced with adversity.
  • He emphasises the need for a new strategy to mobilise his supporters for timely action.
  • The activist’s message resonates with many who understand the complexities of activism in the current climate.

A Time for Re-evaluation

In a candid statement shared on social media, Kebaso expressed his feelings about the need for a break. “I have a problem that needs a solution. Most of my supporters cheer me online, but when I am in trouble, they never show up,” he wrote. He highlighted the growing intensity of attacks against him, which have been strategically timed to coincide with major events, ensuring they go unnoticed. This situation has compelled him to seek a fresh approach to engage his supporters more effectively.

Kebaso emphasised the urgency of finding a new strategy to mobilise his loyal supporters, stating, “I need a new strategy on how to mobilise my loyal supporters to have my back whenever I am under attack.” His desire to cultivate a more robust support system reflects the realities of activism, where online encouragement often does not translate to real-world assistance.

Plans for the Future

Kebaso intends to use this break to formulate effective methods for rallying his supporters, ensuring they can respond swiftly when he faces challenges. “I am genuinely fighting for Kenya, but I need Kenya to fight for me,” he added, highlighting the reciprocal nature of activism and community support.

His announcement has resonated deeply with fellow activists and community members, many of whom have shared their own experiences of feeling isolated in their advocacy efforts. This shared understanding of the pressures of activism reinforces the importance of collective support in the face of adversity.

Background Information

Morora Kebaso has been a leading figure in Kenyan activism, championing causes such as human rights and social justice. His unwavering commitment to these issues has gained him recognition, but it has also brought challenges, including increased scrutiny and attacks from opposing factions. As he steps back to reassess his strategies and build a stronger support network, the community is eager to see how he will emerge from this period of reflection, ready to lead with renewed strength and purpose.
