Just like most single women raising children from previous relationships – Yvette Obura remains grateful to have come this far despite the many times she could have given up on herself and her daughter, Mueni.
Sharing one of the hardest periods of her life, Yvette Obura opened up about April 2023 – a time she describes as the lowest point of her life as she lost everything she owned and was at the verge of losing it all.
My family, friends, and people around me know I was almost becoming homeless, Yvette narrated.
Although not in details, Yvette Obura revealed that things had gotten so bad that she had to downgrade from her two bedroom apartment to a bedsitter…which she would then have to share with her daughter.
In April is when I lost everything. When I say everything, I mean everything… I remember telling my sister, Life is so hard, and at this point I think I will go to Mom’s or relocate from my 2 bedrooms to a bedsitter, and she was like, No, we serve a living God, mama Mueni went on.

Looking back, this happens to be around the same time Mueni had relocated to live with her dad, Bahati and step mum Diana Marua.
At the time, all-netizens-did was criticize and judge Yvette Obura for handing over Mueni to Diana Marua not knowing what was happening behind the cameras.

However with her confession, netizens have not only issued apology to Mama Mueni for judging her wrongly back then – as she clearly did what she had to, to ensure Mueni continued getting the best – even if not from her.
Lastly, mama Mueni now says life has not only changed for the best but she’s finally able to support her mum after years of depending on her.
