“I Have not Been Beaten by Anyone” ~ Karen Nyamu Dismisses GBV Speculations

Nairobi’s Nominated senator, Karen Nyamu, has dismissed speculations of gender-based violence.

Speaking through her Social media page on her Facebook page, Karen dismissed claims that she is being abused or is in an abusive relationship, assuring the public that if at all she was, she wouldn’t have even wasted a minute to let them know as it is not a good situation to be in.

“But for now, I have not faced any physical abuse since the last time I talked about it.

I am not here to defend myself. I have not been beaten by anyone.”

This comes after Karen Nyamu posted a picture of herself online with black spots on her face, something that raised mixed reactions online from the public, hence the origin of her being thought to not be in a healthy relationship.

The Nominated senator, who has a child with her Mugithi lover, Samidoh, said that she is on good terms with her partner and that there’s nothing suspicious or bad going on.

She, however, encouraged individuals to always be real and honest when speaking about what they are going through, as that is good for their mental health. Having been in the situation before, she knows it better than anyone else.
