Kenyan musician Vivian has sparked controversy with her latest TikTok video, in which she openly criticized Christianity and its teachings. The singer, who was once associated with Christian music, has expressed her belief that Christianity is a tool of control and fear.
Vivian argued that the Bible dictates every aspect of a person’s life, leading to harmful consequences for individuals who deviate from its teachings. She questioned the notion that women are secondary to men in Christianity and criticized the institution for empowering a select few while disempowering the masses.
“Can I tell you why I don’t believe in Christianity? I don’t think I had a choice. The foundation of Christianity is control and fear. It is living your whole life experience out of a book,” Vivian said.

Instead, Vivian emphasized the power of the individual soul and the interconnectedness of all beings. She urged her followers to take control of their own lives and not be restricted by religious dogma.
“All your choices, everything about who you are, is determined by one book. And someone can hate you, condemn you, ostracize you, belittle you, dehumanize you, and justify all of these actions by using this one book which they call the holy book. That’s wrong,” she stated.
Vivian’s bold statements have ignited widespread discussion and debate among her followers and the general public. While some support her views, others have expressed concern and disagreement with her critique of Christianity.
