Kenyan Uprising Gengetone artist Fathermoh, known for his viral hit song ‘Kasikie Vibaya’, shares his opinion on the Ssaru 1 billion bride price demand.
The Young Uprising artist shed some light on Ssaru’s bride price, saying that people should respect her decision, and all of those who are interested in having her as their wife should as well measure by paying the amount she said she needs.
“Kila mtu anajua worth yake kama yeye ameamua hiyo ndio worth yake mpee worth yake.
Mimi pia najua worth yangu…… kama amesema worth yake ni 1 billion mpee hiyo worth yake ameekea watu wanamtaka.” Fathermoh shared.
Speaking on whether he can pay dowry, he dismissed the topic, saying he can never pay dowry because he calls himself the price, hence the reason he can never comply.
“I am the price. I can never pay dowry.”
The Uprising artist shared the reason why it doesn’t make sense for him to pay the dowry, saying:
It is because he will be responsible for feeding the wife and housing the same person, as well as helping the lady’s family, hinting that if at all it means paying dowry, it means that he has fully bought you and should be exempted from doing the above, especially receiving calls from the lady’s family. The lady should, as well, never go back to her matrimonial home.
Adding to that, the bride price, which is what he called a token of appreciation, should be issued by the man because he is the one who knows how much the lady is worth rather than the other way around.
