President William Ruto has clarified that he has no plans to sell the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, which is in Nairobi, Kenya, as many are claiming.
Speaking to a gathering, the Kenya Kwanza leader said that all he intends to do is bring in new private investors who will help refurbish the facility—nothing more than that.
It is all in an attempt to try to also be like the rest of the other African countries that have new airports.
“Let’s be honest, Kenyans, the airport we have in Nairobi is made of canvas, At the arrivals, this is a temporary structure we put up almost seven years ago, whereas Ethiopia and Rwanda have a brand new airport.” Ruto said.

He refuted claims that he is selling the airport saying he is only trying something that can benefit the country, which is working closely with new private investors to give the country a new airport.
“I have seen many people saying that William Ruto wants to sell the airport. Am I a mad man? How do you sell a strategic national asset? You have to be insane.” Ruto said.
He explained further that he plans to work under the PPP program, which is a public-private partnership. that has the potential to bring in private sector money and blend it with public sector investment so that they can be able to create an outcome that benefits all.
