A statement by the ODPP on X elaborated the charges further;
”Allan Ochieng denied all the charges levelled against him.
However, the ODPP, represented by prosecution counsel Jenifer Ndeda, filed an application for his detention until a social inquiry report by Probation and Aftercare is completed. Lady Justice Dorah Chepkwony granted the prosecution’s application and ordered that the accused be remanded in Nairobi remand prison for an additional 7 days… Part of the statement read.
The statement further suggested the release of DJ Joe Mfalme & other suspects, who were released before Ballo;
Allan Ochieng was apprehended along with 6 others, including Dj Joe Mfalme, in connection with Felix Kintosi’s murder. The remaining 6 individuals were later released and became prosecution witnesses. The hearing for the bail/bond application is scheduled for 02/05/2024.
While Hype Ballo is still fighting for freedom, Kitosi’s family remain positive that justice will be served, even though they were not pleased with the release of Mfalme & his counterparts as they suggested there’s no way Kitosi was beaten up by one person, leading to his death. For now, Ballo is still in remand for his next hearing.
