Hundreds show up at CBD to protest against the financial bill (Videos)

Hundreds of Nairobi youths took to the streets today in a fiery protest against the Finance Bill 2024. The demonstrations, which began at 11:30 am along Kenyatta Avenue, escalated quickly.

Tear Gas and Running Battles

Police deployed in the Central Business District (CBD) responded to the protests with tear gas canisters in an attempt to disperse the crowd. However, the youths met the tear gas with defiance, hurling them back at the officers. The ensuing scene turned into running battles between the two sides.

Social Media Mobilization Fuels Protests

The large turnout for the protest is attributed to ongoing mobilization efforts on social media networks, urging Nairobi residents to join the movement against the Bill.
