1. Consider Using baking soda.
One of the solutions that is easy to source and get even in your kitchen is this one, which can be used as a natural deodorant as it is capable of absorbing all the bacteria, hence the solution to your problem. All you need to do is mix it with cornstarch, if at all you have it, and baking powder, after which you sprinkle them directly into your shoes and leave them for a whole night. When you get up tomorrow, it will all be gone.
2. Use Dry Soap bars.
Easy peazy, just insert a dry bar of soap into both of your shoes and leave them inside for the entire night. The soap will absorb all the bacteria and bad smells, leaving behind a pleasant fragrance. Also, don’t just use any other soap; use a good soap with a good fragrance.
3. White Vinegar
How about vinegar? This is a natural remedy that neutralizes the bad smell of your shoes. All you need to do is mix it with equal parts water, then spray it in the shoes, but before then, ensure they are thoroughly cleaned before spraying them inside and that they are dry. This vinegar is available in all leading supermarkets nationwide.
4. Take advantage of the sunlight.
Use what you already have free of charge; all you need to do is expose them to direct sunlight and let them dry off. Some of these shoes smell because they are probably wet inside.
5. Always wear socks.
To those who love wearing shoes barefoot, this is some bad news for you. You are lucky enough if they don’t smell, but with time, what do you think will happen? The moment you start sweating and your feet are in a very warm, constricted space, the smell comes out. It is nothing complicated, really. Wearing socks helps the feet by ensuring the fabric can absorb the sweat from your feet. Also, consider changing your socks daily and ensuring your feet are dry before wearing them.
6. Replace the insole.
It could be that your insole is worn out, and it indeed does pass water, or maybe they are old. Consider using other ones and replacing the old ones with new ones.
