How Chiloba’s murder suspect spent victim’s saving hours after ending his life

Edwin Kiptoo, also known as Chiloba is said to have been smothered to death by a man he thought was his bestfriend,  Jackton Odhiambo.

This was revealed during a hearing at the Eldoret High court where Jackton Odhiambo appeared before magistrate Justice Reuben Nyakundi.

Apart from stuffing the late Chiloba’s body in a metallic box, the witnesses testified to shocking activities carried by Jackton Odhiambo hours after he committed the alleged murder.

According to a data analyst’s testimony, it is believed that Jackton went on a shopping spree using the victims phone that had at at least 123,800k on his Mpesa.

Records show how Jackton Odhiambo booked taxi services, checked into several hotels and entertainment venues, not forgetting to pay for massage and sex.

Surprisingly Jackton Odhiambo allegedly used the same Mpesa money to purchase a metallic box that was used to stuff in Chiloba’s dead body.

Testifying against Jackton, Corprol Limo shared a statement showing how much was spent to purchase the metallic box.

“On January 3, 2023, at around 8 am, Kes.7,500 was transferred to one Obadiah Ochieng, a workshop owner who testified earlier in court saying that he received the money for a metallic box that he sold to the accused,” the court told.

The message therapist also confirmed to have received Ksh 4000 from one Edwin Kiptoo (Chiloba) which automatically put Jackton Odhiamobo on the spot since at the time Chiloba’s body was decaying in his house.
