Kenyan Content Creator Alex Mathenge has shared his views on Bloggers and top influencers going for upcoming trending artists.
Speaking through his social media, he has called out bloggers and other comedians who are developing an interest in wanting to manage young upcoming artists while they themselves haven’t fixed themselves.
“Bloggers and comedians are now rushing to manage music talents while they themselves have no managerial skill. How can a blind man lead another blind man?”
He has advised all upcoming artists to keep away from anyone in the limelight trying to convince them that they will walk with them and make them a better version of themselves. Adding that they will only be taking advantage of them and leaving them be.
“If you are an upcoming artist, avoid anyone in the limelight lying to you that atakushika mkono. Huyo anatakaasonge na nyota yako bana.”
Mathenge went on, emphasizing that no Kenyan artist or musician will agree to sponsor someone who doesn’t have anything in their pockets, let alone camera equipment that will help you shoot content.
According to him, If someone trends, all they get is a short-term job that will only last for weeks and maybe a nice haircut and a good-looking closet.
“If You trend utapewa job za kuinfluence butchery ama hardware na uitwe Brand amnassador juu haujui anything utapiga picha na wasanii wakubwa na upewe haircut ya bure pale tao… Viatu pia na nguo utapata deals mingi sana. All those last approximately for weeks.”
He concluded by saying that he’d rather see a trending person being signed in by a recognized recording studio like ‘Kaka Empire or Mavo on the Beat.” Advising the upcoming artist to avoid anything to do with listening to the bloggers and comedians, as they will just mislead them and take their glory.
