Dancehall artist KRG The Don appears to have declined a handsome cash deal offer he was given to back Generation Z, who were marching on the streets protesting against the 2024 Finance Bill.
In an interview session we had with him, KRG said he was confronted by people who he refused to disclose their identities saying they asked him to back the young Gen Z’s in the streets and in return receive 10 million Ksh.
To prove his loyalty to the government, KRG turned down the offer, saying that it was very little money and there’s no way he could be bought with such a small amount.
“They wanted me to go against the whole government. I told them Noooo, “No, me, I am a loyalist. I told them 10 million ni pesa ya kununua Chips na mayai, mimi ni betray, mimi huwezi kuja kunitisha na pesa ya 10 million nifanye mtu mwingne amwage damu juu nimetishwa na 10 million.” KRG said.

Why KRG The Don Never wanted to take part in the anti Finance Protests
A while back the Dancehall artist said that he was not going to take part in te demonstrations because he saw it as uncivilised way to pass a message saying that they are better ways in which the message can be passed.
“Which one works for you? Kutafuta watu kumi ama ishrini kuenda kwa mbunge wenu waende waongee na yeye, then mbunge apigie president. Ama kuenda town kupigana na polisi fikiria hiyo. At the end of the day, noise doesn’t change anything; violence changes nothing..“KRG said.
The ‘Mambo Imechemka’ hitmaker had advised Generation Z to use peaceful ways to solve their matters rather than involving violence, saying they have a lot of information but lack knowledge.
