Paul Mackenzie based in Malindi, Killifi County has been making headlines because his followers have been dying mysteriously.
According to the information surfacing online, 15 bodies have been retrieved from Malindi Shakahola village where they had been buried, reason being that the people were fasting as directed believing that they will see christ, among the exhumed bodies were 8 little children.
Something that has been termed as a cult: (These are are generally a group of people that believe on some prophecy that they believe exists, or people with different beliefs from the rest of others)
These particular group will do anything that their leader directs without questioning that is also described as ‘influence’. And in this case Mackenzie had his followers where he wanted them to be.
The Cult leader Mackenzie, is believed to have been a taxi driver at Malindi before he started his own church (Good News International Church). He had some powerful influence on his believers that he managed to immerse a lot of wealth from them. Some even relocated to Malindi just to hear his prophecies. He is married to Joyce Mwikamba who has gone missing shortly after the pastor was arraigned and is now in custody of Milimani law courts.
He had directed his followers to burn all their documents including their certificates and even telling them to stay far away from hospital doors whenever they fall sick.
The Cult Leader who not much is known about him has been arrested and awaits judgement from the court.
Over 100 people are missing while 58 people have been confirmed dead.
The Public has joined in the Conversation including the President of Kenya William Ruto among other prominent leaders condemning the undispeakable act, The president has called out the pastor as a walking terrorist as he is using religion to advance their weird unacceptable ideologies saying that such people should be prosecuted.
