Kenyan comedian DJ Shiti has discussed the importance of being financially independent especially men.
Speaking in an interview with the Mic Cheque podcast, Dj Shiti discussed the importance of having your own money, not just as a man but also as a person, saying it accords you respect from others.
“Kukua na pesa yako fulani ni kitu fiti sana hizo za free zi hu end in premium tears. Hiyo hata niliona the time niko na buda hosi last year niliona nikarealize kua na dooh yako ni poa.” DJ Shiti explained.
DJ Shiti, who was narrating how he was dealing with life hardships, said the worst situation you should never ever find yourself in is being broke because people always use that to their advantage by downgrading you and not even using you to help them execute something; in other words, they exploit you.
“The moment watu washa realize kimeukumania watu hukutreat tuh vibaya….ni poa ukiwa na doh yako fulani nilikua na mzae hosy last year nilikaa huko sana mpaka hakuna product nilikua na endorse mpaka kidogo pesa yangu iishe.
Msee anakubeba ndogo sana, Ukiwa na pesa yako na unaweza lipa nyumba ukule breakfast, lunch na supper ni kitu fiti sana…hakuna kitu mbaya kama kuomba omba.”

He goes on to explain how money is also an important thing in relationships, saying having money, however little, will help keep your relationship because you will need food to eat, among other essentials.
“Same ina apply kwa dem juu pia ata taka basics tuh kama huna basics haitapendeza kabisaa!!!!” DJ Shiti shared.
