Kenyan Socialite Georgina Njenga has clapped back at critics questioning her way of doing things, especially parenting.
Georgina took it to her Instagram page on Sunday, saying how disappointed she was with some people criticizing new moms having fun.
She said that she was mom shamed by a fan who asked her where she had left her baby as she was out partying, Georgina responded explaining in detail that she has every right to do what she was doing, and she will not accept to be intimidated for anyone.
“First of all asking a mum where she left her baby when she’s trying to have fun is mom shaming since you all try to create a mom guilt in us. Apart from holding the title mum, we have a lot of other things to offer!! My first 3 months of being a mom I really did overwork myself, I had no nanny because I felt I like I would be a lazy mom!! I did everything by myself because I was so scared of even trusting anyone with her.”
Georgina went on, narrating how she fell into Post Partum Depression, where she could blame the father for everything.
Post Partum Depression: is a type of stress that kicks in after giving birth, it really causes extreme sadness and despair.
She then said, she doesn’t understand why the father of her daughter is not scolded the way they scold her when she is going out just for a day. Adding that she is still in her early 20s and is doing everything in her power to be a good mum and nobody should make new moms feel bad in any way, sending a message to haters that if they ever ask such a question again in public, she will shun them off.
“I’m still a girl trying to achieve her dreams in her 20s, and I’m still going to live them in every opportunity that I get….. And with that being said if you ever ask me such a question in public I’ll reciprocate the energy given and If you ask me in my dm I’ll block you.”
Georgina Njenga and Baha (@Tyler mbaya) are amongst the youngest couple who have already been blessed with a beautiful baby girl by the name Astra.
