What DP Gachagua is being accused of
Members of Parliament (MPs) are set to table an ouster motion against Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua at the National Assembly today, Tuesday, at 2:30 pm.
Tabling the motion will require 233 MPs to support it to sail through, and reports claim that 302 members have already appended their signatures.
According to Gachagua’s accusers, he has breached Article 10 of the Constitution by making provocative and imprudent remarks in public that have the potential to inspire ethnic hatred.
He is also being accused of gross violation of article 147, 148, 174, 186 and 189.
For now, Gachagua’s fate rests with legislators, but one person might still extend him a renewed lease of political life, and that is Kenyan President William Ruto.
