FORMER VETERAN JOURNALIST LABAN KARANI DIES

Laban Karani used to work at KBC before he moved to media max where he worked until he decided to drop media.

Former Kenya Broadcasting Corporation journalist Laban Karani has bid the world farewell at his place in Juja Nairobi, Kenya.

Karani’s death comes after diabetes and hypertension had the best of him. He rested on May 29th 2023.

The information was broken by his widow Rhoda Karani who narrated the medical condition of his late husband.

“It is a very sad moment for the family. He was being treated for diabetes and hypertension, and his condition became more complicated. In the last few months, he had been in and out of the hospital until he succumbed to the disease.”

Laban had joined KBC in the year 1990 after graduating from the Kenya Institute of Mass Communication (KIMC). He used to present the swahili news and hosted the news show called ‘Dunia Wiki hii’ after 8 years of the making in the broadcasting company he moved to Media Max that’s the years 1998.

He then moved to media max where he worked for 4 years until 2012 when he decided to explore other things and joined politics that saw him win a member of county assembly seat for Mwimbi Ward in Tharaka Nithi County.

Condolences messages are still coming in as people are praising him for serving his country with integrity and honesty.

Laban leaves behind a wife and two children, together with a legacy that can never be unwritten.
