Family of popular video vixen dismiss claims their daughter, Sarah Gwan committed suicide

The family of Sarah Njogu aka Sara Gwan a popular video vixen who featured on most top music videos in East Africa was rumored to have fallen from 2nd floor; and thereafter was rushed to St Francis Hospital for first aid before she was moved to Kenyatta National hospital where she died.

Her parents Mary Wanjiru and Geoffrey Njogu however believe their daughter did not take her own life judging from how strong and determined she was to give her daughter a good life.

Speaking about this with Citizen TV’s Cabu Gah, the parents expressed doubt in the stories told by their daughter’s friends on how she jumped off the balcony, adding that the three said girls have different versions as to what happened.

“I know my daughter. She was the strongest woman in my household. Sarah began her independence quite early in life, as a very young girl. She was very strong at heart and a go-getter. There is no way Sarah would kill herself. That’s not the Sarah I knew,” her mother said.

Mr Njogu on the other hand claims by the time (7AM) he got to Nairobi from the village, Karatina, the matter had not been reported at the police station, hence the main reason he rushed to see what the police knew of his daughter’s alleged falling.

“I was asleep. I quickly got up and started preparing myself to go to Nairobi. I arrived at Nairobi at around 7am and went straight to Kasarani Police Station where I notified the police that my daughter had just fallen from a balcony and the family suspected that her friends were behind it all, ” Njogu said.

The two parents remain convinced that their daughter was pushed off by the women she cohabited with in the name of friendship.

Her sister is also convinced this was no suicide mission for her big sister who was a threat to those she called friends.

So far the ladies linked to the fall have been released on cash bond Ksh 60,000 and are free as of now.
