Kenya’s gold-winning athlete Faith Kipyegon has been trending on Twitter (X) after her statue that was erected in Eldoret town raised mixed reactions from the public.
“The man who built this should be stopped and arrested!” an online user wrote.
“Because what is that now?” another one wrote
These comments are a result of what the statue looked like:
Because of the public uproar the statue was removed late at night and nothing else has been communicated from since.

Looking at the statue while comparing it with the one that Eiud Kipchoge has been built for in the USA, you can truly tell that there’s a great difference by far, and the one that Faith has been honored with is a total insult to her having made Kenya proud, according to people’s judgments.

Even so, a new statue is set to be put up, one that clearly honours the athlete’s achievements.
As we speak Faith Kipyegon is currently in her home town Eldoret where she is being welcomed in the company of Kenya’s President William Ruto and Cabinet Secretary in charge of sports Kipchumba Murkomen.
