Ex-policeman Linda Okello speaks about how her viral picture that tarnished her name, costing her career.
Linda Okello, known through her viral picture wearing a tight outfit, hit the headlines, leaving everyone talking about her. She shared her journey, including how long she worked with the police force and why she decided to go into hiding after trending.
After having worked with the force for 16 years, Okello decided to resign her job and relocate to the United States, dismissing anything to do with being dismissed off duty.
She talked about her viral picture, hinting that she was talking to her boss at the time and wasn’t aware she was being filmed at the moment.
She shared her disappointment in the viral picture, hinting that it was overwhelming and heartbreaking because her bosses had her face punished because she went against the police code.
“It was not good because the following day my bosses read about it on social media; in fact, the following day I was undergoing punishment like it is called a police procedure.”
A procedure she said is like being put in trial before court where you are asked questions and you answer them before people, a scenario that even allows you to have a witness to back you up.
“You even get someone to defend… The allegations were that I was skantly dressed… The skirt wasn’t a police uniform.” Okello added.
She expressed her disappointment on the ones who were handling her case saying that the reason she was appearing the way she is basically because skirt was given to her in like 7 years ago. She also called out n the photographer who took her picture, saying the person was unfair because of the angle he chose to take the picture with.
“I think the Camera was did not do me justice…there’s an angle that If you take a photo It will not appear as…. It was focusing on the bit rare side.”
She expressed her disappointment on her fellow women who took the front line in fueling and pushing her viral picture rather than defending and siding with her.
Linda Okello’s normal life became a hard one to cope with because she could be called out in the public by random people.
At the moment, she is currently not working with the police and is living her life doing other things.
