Eddie Butita’s YouTube channel with over 350K Subscribers disappears shortly after he rejected the finance bill

Comedian Eddie Butita recently made his sentiments on the finance bill known to Kenyans after they concluded that he was supporting it.

Even though Butita was initally neutral about the finance bill in his tweet, he received a heavy backlash from netizens, who were quite inquisitive about his stance on the bill.

He recently topped the charts after clearly mentioning that he doesn’t support the finance bill.

He admitted that he had received backlash for his previous sentiments on the finance bill.

”Recently, I have faced criticism for not publicly stating my psition on the Finance Bill 2024. I want to address the issue directly and share the state of affairs sorrounding my recent actions. I understand the frustration and disconnect many feel with the current system. It is clear that we need a proper structure to ensure our voices are heard and represented effectively. Often, our leaders lose touch with those they represent. The results are what is happening currently,” he started off

He further promised to turn up at the demonstrations planned for tomorrow.

”All said and done, it is time to publicly make my position official. I Eddie Butita #RejectFinanceBill2024. It is time to listen. We can not be all wrong. Hayaa basi, Gen Z nitafutieni tshirt kali nireport kwa ofisi.”

Consequence of finance bill opinion?

Eddie Butita lost subscribers after his previous sentiments on the finance bill. But a day after Butita’s clear opinion on rejecting the bill, his YouTube channel, which had garnered over 350K subscribers, went missing. A quick search on the channel done by this writer confirms that it’s absent. Butita is yet to address the issue on the channel.

It still remains unclear whether Butita decided to deactivate the account or whether it was reported severally by subscribers, leading to it’s dis-appearance. The jester however, confirmed that the channel will soon be up and running.
