Taking to his X account, Gachagua paid tribute to Leah and expressed how dearly he would miss her.

”Today, we have laid to rest our eldest Sister Leah Wangari Muriuki, a great woman of remarkable record in the community and society. A teacher & highly resourceful mentor, the Gachagua Family, the Gatata Family and the community at Mirera in Nanyuki will miss her wise counsel.”

In the same event, Gachagua went on to admonish young people to stop the protests, adding that their grievances had already been heard and were being looked into.

The young generation Gen Z, as your father, my sons and daughters, we have heard you; you’ve spoken very clearly; the message is home.

His main reason for the request was that the protests were now being infiltrated by criminals.

”What started as peaceful protests has unfortunately been hijacked by criminals with criminal intent who are now engaging in looting. I want to urge you to listen to us as parents and call off the protests so that criminals don’t hijack them and engage in criminal activities.” Gachagua continued.

The protests are still ongoing with hundreds of youths showing up in the streets for the anti-government protests.
