Doja Cat explains the inspiration behind her unique Met Gala Outfit

American rapper Doja Cat explained the inspiration behind her outfit choice at the Met Gala event.

The theme of the Costume Institute’s exhibit on display at the museum was “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion,” while the dress code was “The Garden of Time.“

Speaking to one of the press members, she said that her outfit selection wasn’t a hard pick, as she just thought of having something that wouldn’t blend in with the theme much.

“I know people are going to do flowers, but my flower of choice is the most used flower and its cotton…..also I wanted to do a white T-shirt because it is timeless.

 It felt poetic to choose this, and I didn’t want to blend in too much, so we went with this.” Doja Cat explained.

Doja, who was wearing a white outfit drenched in hair gel,  said she wanted to be different from the rest as she doesn’t like being the one who blends in with the theme.

The picture generated mixed reactions online, with many thinking that she was almost going out of her way while others congratulated her for standing out and being herself.

This is actually not the first time that Doja Cat’s dress code has generated mixed reactions online; she has been wearing strange, eye-catching outfits lately and posting pictures of them on her social media without thinking about what the public will see her wearing.
