Dennis Kaggia famously known as ‘DNA’ has shared his perception as far as doing maandamano is concerned.
He has recorded a video saying that he doesn’t side with those taking part in the protests about the high cost of living, as it is now a global issue.
The ‘Banjuka’ hit maker said that he would rather side with other things, but not something revolving around the high cost of living.
“Lakini tuongee vitu vinamake sense and why I am making this video the cost of living is very high and that is one of the reasons ya kuandamana…and I respect that the freedom of kukutana and kuongea about issues that’s something very good.”
He went on, adding that If the demonstrations were going to be about the high cost of electricity that has shot up, then he would gladly have joined in.
“Kama Maandamano ingekua about the cost of electricity in Kenya, Bro…. Me, I would be there on the frontline because these guys are scamming us properly. Energy Costs are too much in Kenya and there is no good reason, It’s all theft.”
He then gave the reason as to why the cost of living has shot up, saying that it’s because of the COVID-19 pandemic that stirred things up.
“The cost of living is high around the world because during the pandemic because the United States (US) government printed a lot of money to give its citizens who were staying at home and working from home, and because of quarantine and all that. The thing that it caused is inflation, because they printed money out of nowhere.”
Inflation means the rate of increase in prices over a given period of time, more especially in a country, as in this case.
He then concluded that now the fact that those dollars are no more as that’s the prime reason as to why the cost of living went up, adding that anything that goes wrong in the states messes up all other countries.
This is because the money that the whole world uses comes from America and now that the US doesn’t have enough dollars, this becomes a world pandemic which hits every country all over the world.
He then thanked the Azimio Leader for fighting for the people but urged them to now shift their focus into other meaningful things as everyone is trying hard to survive.
