Mpakani Director Gatonya has talked about the new series that’s now the talk of town, disclosing the duration it took to shoot the whole set.
Speaking to our very own Nthenya of SPMBUZZ, he said that it took them 45 days to complete the whole set.
“Because of good planning, we shot very few days, we shot 45 days for 10 episodes.”
He although said it wasn’t easy even though they managed to crown it all in 45 days.
He also shared his sensitive character, saying it was fara because of how long it took to cast the character.
“But my most sensitive character was fara because fara story was really strong and very hard, so even casting fara was very hard took 3 months and three weeks.”
Spoke about the challenges they faced while shooting, saying that the first day had them thrashing everything they had done because almost everything wasn’t working right.
Director Gatonya is a professional director, having directed quite a number of movies including Dream child that can be recommended to high schoolers, there’s also 40 sticks that’s on Netflix and now Mpakatoni that’s a miniseries he also does work on helping in the production of Kina.
Mpakani series is a 10 episode series show featuring a Special Intervention Unit (SIU) of the administration police. The unit is dispatched to the frontline in Wajii, to deal with the threat posed by the notorious Burhaan who is planning a major terrorist attack in Nairobi.
