Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, who was addressing the nation from Mombasa, has called out National Intelligence Service Director General Noordin Haji.
Gachagua said that the Director General should resign from office because he is incompetent, as he failed to protect Parliament from invaders, in addition to that, he also didn’t brief the senior intelligence officers of the intensity of the protests so that they could prepare accordingly.
“Noordin Haji was a junior officer in the National Intelligence Service before he was appointed DPP. When he was appointed in the office of Director General, because of the inferiority complex, he chased away all the people who were senior to him when he was in the service, therefore crippling the capacity of that service and making it dysfunctional.” Gachagua said.

He blames the Director General for the damages the country has sustained during the protests, saying it is because of his poor leadership that the security sector was caught off guard by the angry Kenyans.
“Never have protestors invaded and gotten inside Parliament… The National Intelligence Service slept on the job, and the problem is simple: the Director General… Noordin Haji didn’t do his job well because he has no capacity to run the organization. Had Noordin Haji done his job, we would not be where we are today.” Gachagua said.
