Rigathi Gachagua, who was speaking at a church service at Pentecostal Evangelistic Fellowship of Africa (PEFA) Church in Thika Town, on Sunday, September 22, asked the DP to ignore the bad speculations suggesting otherwise.
He reminded President Ruto to remember to keep his promise of ensuring that his deputy is not humiliated; lest he loses the trust of the people.
“I would like to ask my boss, President William Ruto, to be cautious and do the right thing, and let’s keep our house together. Let’s not be disruptive, and let us not reintroduce the politics of betrayal.” Gachagua advised Kenyan President William Ruto.
Gachagua insisted that consequences may come after should he pursue betrayal politics.
“Our people hate betrayal, and they are very unforgiving if you betray them. I ask my brother not to be tempted to go in that direction because these people will be unforgiving. That is just my advice. I’ve been around for a very long time. Hii watu ya mulima Kenya nawajkua sana.” Gachagua shared.

Why Gachagua is being Impeached
Tana River Senator Danson Mungatana filed a censure motion against Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, raising concerns over what he termed “unacceptable conduct” for a state officer. He cited Gachagua’s behavior as inconsistent with the leadership standards expected of the Deputy President’s office.
Gachagua’s actions since taking office, according to Senator Mungatana, have frequently been contentious. He specifically brought up the Deputy President’s divisive remarks about the distribution of public jobs among localities and remarks that were seen as disparaging county governments.
“These actions go against the constitutional mandate to uphold national values, including inclusivity, fairness, and respect for the law,” the senator added.
With the censure motion now on the table, all eyes are on the Senate as political dynamics within the government continue to shift. Whether the motion will lead to significant consequences for Gachagua or fuel further divisions remains to be seen.
