Dem Wa Facebook and Oga Obinna blast Bahati for claiming that they stole his song ‘Namposti’

Kenyan comedians YouTuber Oga Obinna and Dem Wa Facebook have blasted gospel artist Kevin Bahati for saying that they copied his song.

Speaking during their weekly show that they normally hold, they called out Bahati, telling him to stop being jealous as they did not take his song.

Dem Wa Facebook weighed on the matter confirming that the song is their hard-earned work and has not been stolen.

“Tulifanya vitu mingi tukaenda somewhere tukashoot na tumetrend sana… Alafu tukapost. Sasa baha mtoto wa Diana, kamtu anasema tumemuibia song.” Dem Wa Facebook said.

Obinna, however, on a light note, bluffed that the only thing that he might consider stealing from Bahati is his wife.

“Ni throw shade…? I did another conversation on Martin Dean, 2 Mbili TV, and Vickie Vickinah’s channel and spoke about how the song came about: tulikua hata kwa matanga haukua kwa akili, akili ilikua kwa bebi.

The only thing naeza taka kwa bahati, ni bibi yake.” Obinna said.

The Story behind the Making of ‘Namposti’ Sound Track

Oga Obinna had earlier explained the songwriting process behind the disputed track, highlighting the influences and inspirations that shaped it.

We were actually on a road trip, and I was playing a komba mix, and there’s a part the beat bangs, and it is there i got the idea from… I was like, I can do this because every time I drive, I always record a voice note, I was vibing while people were asleep, and then I was like, I wanted to do a song called Nimechoka Kumficha… before switching to Namposti.” Obinna shared.

Obinna said that the track was a success because he had people who helped him create the master piece.

“The song was actually written by four people, myself, Goon, DVD Power, and the producer from Tanzania.” Obinna revealed.
