Gospel musician Daddy Owen has revealed that he is no longer interested in remarrying. On a phone interview with Milele Fm he divulged his reasons for the decision, “Sitaki mwanamke kwa maisha yangu, am busy kazi ni mingi, tena moto ninaye, sasa nini ingine.”
The musician recently took social media by storm after he claimed he was in search of a village girl to marry while also disclosing the qualities he was looking for in his future wife. He later clarified saying people got it all wrong, “I want to make it very clear, Kido wewe ni mtu wangu unanijua vizuri sana. Mimi nilipigiwa simu nikaulizwa interview. Nikaulizwa Daddy Owen mambo vipi nikasema poa, nikaulizwa mambo ya muziki lakini mwishowe nikaulizwa pale, Daddy Owen are you seeing someone? Nikasema no am not seeing someone. So are you single nikasema yeah am single. So akaniulizaje are you planning to date anytime soon? Nikamwambia at the moment am so busy am not even thinking about it alafu nikaulizwa na je when you decide you want to date when, the key word is when what is your preference, what kind of a lady are you looking for? Nikawaaambia when the time comes I will look for a God-fearing woman, a woman who has been brought up in the village and of course preferably dark- skinned,” he said, after receiving many requests from single ladies who claimed to have the qualities he was looking for.
The vanity hit maker’s divorce rumors from ex-wife Farida Wambui surfaced online in 2020 after it was said that she was dating a tycoon. He later confirmed it claiming the relationship had normal issues, “We have been discussing our issues as a couple and consulting when things don’t go right. We haven’t been agreeing on everything and that is human. However, when one wrong leads to another, you really have to get concerned and start thinking hard. When it came to that, I fell into depression and could lock myself in the house and cry, asking God why this was going on.”
Adding that it had affected his music, “I stopped writing and releasing songs, as my creativity wasn’t working. I could not pray, as I felt weak inside. I contemplated doing everything wrong, even death. Nothing in life makes sense. The worst bit is that everyone out there thinks you have it all put together and life is progressive.”
