Earlier today, the Court directed that Jeff Mwathi’s case be looked into again so that clear and reliable information is shared as to what happened to Jeff, leading to his death.
Magistrate Zainab Abdul directed that the inquest into the 23-year-old who died at Dj Fatxo’s premises will commence on August 10, 2023.
The inquest will shed some light on what exactly happened on that day so that the public’s desire to get answers can be fulfilled.
A total of 35 witnesses will be summoned to appear in court so that they can share their side of the story as per what they know, depending on the questions they will be asked. This will help with the investigations.
Jeff Mwathi’s mother who was present in court, said that she will not relent until justice prevails, adding that since Jeff rested, there hasn’t been peace in their homestead, let alone Jeff Mwathi’s close friends, and she hopes that the truth will be unraveled.
“We have cried; we have suffered; but we trust there is God in heaven. What I’d want is for the government to take action on anyone that may be found guilty.”
Dj Fatxo, on the other hand had been declared not guilty after the DCI said that they don’t have anything that they can hold against him, even after a detailed investigation was conducted sourcing for the reason of Jeff’s death.
Jeff Mwathi’s parents and the public await August 10 to see what ruling will come out of Jeff Mwathi’s death saga.
