Kenyan comedian YY has shared an insight into details about his upcoming stand-up comedy set to happen in the UK.

Speaking to the press just outside the JKIA Airport, he did express his excitement about the opportunity, saying that it is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity as he will get to connect with his fans that are on the other side of the country.

YY shared the challenges of stand-up comedy, one of them being anxiety, which is the feeling one gets before going on stage; hence, the reason as to why he has decided that he won’t be seeing any of his friends abroad until he is done performing.

“Comedy inakuanga na anxiety mbaya kushinda anything else… So we have to be fresh every day; you are as good as your last show. So tunakuanga na anxiety until ile time unatokanga kwa stage… It is full of anxiety; I won’t lie to you.”

YY promised to put on a show like no other as he is experienced in the game having worked alongside the best talented comedians that are doing well and mastering what he does to the point where he went to the level of starting his own show called “Dinga Ya Wife.”

According to YY, the secret to a good stand-up comedy show is being unpredictable, as that’s where the tactic to nailing it lies.

Comedian YY and other 5 stars are leaving the country for London, where they have promised to put on a show like no other, having been out of the game for quite some time as each one of them was busy working on their own individual brand. To them, this is another opportunity to prove what they can do and make a statement that Kenya has some of the most talented stand-up comedians that can perform both locally and internationally.
