Kenyan comedian and influencer has narrated how he met his wife, Marya Okoth.
Speaking during an interview with Miq Cheque Podcast, he openly disclosed how he convinced her to move in on their first date.
“It was at Arte Cafe Garden City. We sat down to converse, and I was like, You know what? I am trying to settle, ukae ukijua mimi sitaki kua rafiki yako. I am serious. I think I want to settle down with you or someone like you.” YY revealed.
He goes on to say that Marya, who was nervous upon being told, asked him to give her a year to think about it, but to his surprise, it took way shorter than he expected it to.
According to YY, you can never waste content reason why he shot his shot directly to Marya without beating around the bush, he wanted to be sure that he can have her before he starts spending on her and even elevating her to higher levels.

Marya’s Response
Marya Okoth, who was also in the podcast, responded back, saying that it is indeed true that she wore his mask and never felt like she wasn’t supposed to because she was already into him after vibing together.
“To me, in the 5 minutes from Kahawa to Garden City and when we were at our date, we had already bonded and had clicked mimi kuvaa mask yake sikua na ile kitu ya anaeza kua na COVID, and you know that during COVID time, you used to trust that someone you knew didn’t have COVID, so I took his mask.
That’s when, afterwards, he told me he was going to take me to his place so that I could see it.”
Marya praised her husband YY saying he is a go-getter because of how he managed to win her during their first date.
“This guy is a go-getter. If he wants something, he will get it. Si mumeskia hata story zake… And that’s what happened when I got to his place. Hivyo ndio saa sita ilifika, and then I slept at his place. Kuamka kesho yake, mpaka saa hii. I don’t know how he became funny or interesting because I don’t understand how it happened.” Marya shared.
