Kenyan comedian YY has shared the reason that made him take up almost all the roles in his trending Kenyan comedy series called ‘Dinga Ya Wife’.

YY said that the reason he opted not to involve many people in his series, thus distributing roles, was because he felt the need to prove the point of reliability to the public.

“Kwa hii usanii kama kuna kitu inapelekanga usanii mbele… ni realiability, can people rely on you?

Adding that he is one of those people who wants work to be delivered and done his way, and to him, not involving other people in that is a win-win situation as he has cut anything to do with frustrations because he believed that if he did it alone, it would definitely come out as he had pictured it, and it would avoid the small inconveniences that come with working with people who at times might frustrate you.

“Mimi nakuanga niko, sure, I can rely on myself… Nikisema kesho script itakua ready by 8 itakua imeandikiwa… I do not want to depend on somebody else.”

He also said that he believes in his craft and that there are very few people who are as qualified as him, and those who match his skills are busy, hence the reason he opted to do it himself.

YY previously shared that he was the scriptwriter, lead actor, director, part of the editing crew, and the one who designed the theme background song—a total of almost 5 roles. The reason he decided to put it on hold at the moment was because of the many commitments he had.

He hinted that he is still thinking about whether to continue with season 2 or crown it there, as he has another ready series that he had initially shot that has 5 episodes.
