Gengetone Pioneer Clemo has vowed to defend and fight for the rights of Producers.
Speaking on an interview at Battle of the choirs with our very own Betty from SPM BUZZ, Clemo said that producers and songwriters have always been forgotten and has said that he will help them get credit for their hard work.
Adding that what arts culture lacks in Kenya is support.
He also said that he is working to get legislation that will cover and support the whole structure, including the songwriters and Producers and actors.
“So what am basically working on right now is making sure we have proper legislation.
At my level from the County Level, I’ll definitely petition the National Government to get the legislation and the assembly to get legislation that will support the whole structure, not just the artists…everybody is important.”
Clemo assured the public that this will be made possible as soon as possible, as they are insiders who will help in fastening the process.
Speaking of the Skiza Tunes on the phone, Clemo said that the Songwriters will be entitled to the track and will get credit for their song and will have their share.
The Battle of Choirs that was happening at Nairobi Festival was used as a platform to advertise individual and group work from different artists, so that they can also be acknowledged.
