Ciku Muiruri’s daughter Erica Gachoka and her friend Shanice Agose have been rescued by the police after being taken away for over a week.

The story behind their abduction revolves around them going to take a taxi heading home in Nairobi Westlands.

As per the report shared online, the two were rescued on a police hunt at Juja ward, Waiteithie area, off Thika Highway, and in the process, two suspects have been apprehended for further investigations.

Erica’s identity card that was missing is what helped the police track the missing souls by discovering one who had it.

It was with this very lead that the police were able to locate the house where the women were being kept, approximately 10 kilometers away in the Mang’u area. Erica and Shanice looked emaciated upon their rescue, bearing the physical toll of their traumatic experience.

There were also other things in the room that the policemen said would help with the investigations, including a mattress, jerrycans, a bucket, a plastic seat, cello tape, a rope, a candle, fake number plates, a hammer, and a knife.

The kidnappers, who were giving the family and Ciku a hard time the entire week, were switching phones and demanding a sum of 500,000 Ksh.

On the 5th of June this month, Ciku informed the public of the tragic news, asking for their prayers by even sharing the details of the abduction. She also prayed, hoping that she would find her in peace and that the Lord had truly helped her all along.
