Kenyan actress Ciku Muchiri has disclosed how she landed a role in the Nurse Toto series.
She revealed that it was the power of networking that helped her get the role.
“Ni the power of networking si kujuana…networking as in you as a person, how do you sell yourself as in your brand, tulipatana na Butita a few events…. used to ask him kama uko na anything other project I’d be happy to join?” Ciku revealed.
Speaking about her role, ‘Sly’ in the Nurse Toto series, she said that she wasn’t supposed to do the role, but because the one who was supposed to do it never showed up, she picked it up.
Ciku also clarified that in her entire acting career, she has never slept her way to the top and has always respected herself and upheld her morals.

A ‘Nurse Toto’, is a Kenyan comedy series written and directed by Netflix’s Guru and Creative Eddie Butita, which is a satirical, dramatic, and humorous portrayal of the lives of patients, doctors, and nurses in Facility One hospital. It is currently streaming on Eddie Butita’s YouTube channel.
Ciku opens up on the challenges she faces
The young creative also disclosed that her beauty has always put her in the spotlight because it always has both men and women stalking her. She recalled an incident where a man who claimed to be a diehard fan followed her all the way to her apartment.
“Kuna mtu alinifuata mpaka, they wanted to see where I live; they wanted to see my floor. my house. They wanted to even carry my bags. They were like, I like what you do. You are such a gem. You inspire me. I had to go to the rooftop, buy whatever I needed, and lose it.
But unfortunately, Hakuenda and I had to face them, be aggressive, and tell them, Imagine that I am not interested in whatever you are telling me.” Ciku shared.
